| A major
part of our workload over recent years has been to provide structural
data for Engineers where a building is being refurbished, or some change
of use is planned. Often, no drawings exist for the structure, and we
are asked to provide data regarding type, depth and size of foundations,
reinforcement type, size and configuration, concrete grade, details of
structural steelwork and connections, including locations and numbers of
bolts, their sizes, spacings and so forth. We have considerable
experience in this area, including the need to work very cleanly, with
minimum disturbance to the occupants. This often necessitates out of
hours working and negotiation with owners or occupiers of neighbouring
buildings.
We aim to provide the information needed by the Engineer in the
clearest most concise way possible. A typical drawing from one of our
reports is given below.

For more details of our capabilities in this area,
please ask for Dr. Michael Gray. |
